Kohav-yam (Starfish) (3 and 4 yr. olds)
*Campers must be potty trained
JEA Camp Savannah is excited to offer a new and improved summer experience for three and four year old children. Young children have developmentally different needs, so JEA Camp Savannah will be addressing those skills through age appropriate activities and schedules for our preschoolers. The children will have a chance to enjoy a variety of recreational and educational summer activities including cooking, science, dance, music, and more. The activity-filled days are designed to expand your child’s interests, teach skills, and promote cooperation through swimming, outdoor activities, movement, arts and crafts and cultural enrichment. Campers in this unit take daily naps and enjoy “Stay-Trips” where we bring the fun to them on the JEA Campus. Every camper should be dressed for swimming/swim lessons when they arrive at camp each day. Please remember
to apply sun screen to your camper before they are dropped off at Camp Savannah.
Karish (Sharks)
The Karish campers will participate in many adventurous activities and games that help each camper discover their individuality and build self-confidence. Campers will gain an understanding of the importance of self-esteem and respect. We encourage the Karish campers to keep an open mind and respect their fellow camper’s choices. A typical day includes swim instruction, Abrakadoodle, Squeaky Sneakers, lunch, Cultural Enrichment and afternoon snack. Special events for this group include field trips and two scheduled sleep overs.
Our LIT Program has been designed to allow young adults to participate in a multi-faceted leadership experience. They will focus on three main components of camp: leadership, hands-on training, and, of course, the fun and social aspect. In addition to rotating through the normal camp schedule, they will also take part in weekly community service trips around Savannah and will be responsible for the weekly Shabbat celebration on Fridays.
