2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Savannah’s Jewish Educational Alliance—a milestone that our community should be very proud of. The concept of Savannah’s JEA was born 100 years ago when the Council of Jewish Women proposed to Jewish community leaders that an institution was needed to meet the needs of Jews of all ages in Savannah. Since then, the JEA has been growing and evolving with every generation that has walked through its doors. The JEA moved to its current Abercorn Street location in 1955, welcoming families (Jewish and non-Jewish) from Savannah and neighboring communities. As Savannah’s Jewish community continues to grow, we remain energized and proud of our 100-year milestone. We are focused on the future, creating new programming, events and classes to meet the needs of our community.
2012 will commence a year-long celebration of the past, present and future of the JEA. We welcome you, your family and friends to join us at one or all of our three signature 100-year events listed below. Full-Access 100-Year Celebration passes are being sold now for $200, affording you admission to all three events, name-listing in our 100 year anniversary tribute journal, and a complimentary copy of the journal upon its release.
